Why did you decide to get a horror sleeve?
I have been a horror junkie since I was a child. I remember watching Halloween with my mom on the couch at around 5 yrs old. My dad went out to the store and bought a scary mask and decided to sneak up and bang on the window behind us. It scared the crap outta me and I’ve been hooked ever since. So since scary movies have been such a major part of my life I decided to immortalize my love for them on my body.
What do you love about horror?
I think the thing I love most about horror is the actual feeling of being scared. Being scared is fun. I love the adrenaline rush I get from being put in an uncomfortable situation, not knowing what’s gonna happen next without actually having to experience it myself. Also I like the way it brings the audience together. It’s the only genre of films where it’s ok to scream and yell at the screen with your friends and no one gets upset.
Whats your favourite single tattoo on your sleeve?
My favorite single tattoo is probably the Pennywise tattoo on my forearm or the Freddy Krueger on my shoulder. The detail in the Pennywise is awesome. It’s so realistic looking. And the Freddy tattoo has a cool seen of the little girls jumping rope wither the lyrics to the 1-2 Freddy’s coming for you song in the background. Definitely my two favs.
How long did it take to complete your sleeve?
My sleeve is still a work in progress. There is a spot on the back of my arm that will be filled with a Texas Chainsaw Massacre tattoo and then we have to add more of the Shining carpet as filler. I’m going to extend my sleeve onto my ribs eventually and put some of the more obscure horror films I love on there.
I started the sleeve in February 2015 and it’s been about 45 hrs of total tattoo time to get where I’m at today .
What tattooist did your sleeve?
My tattoo artist is Eli Martinez (@wakeupslaves on insta) He is out of Venice Beach California and also tattoos here in Las Vegas on occasion.
Whats your favourite scary movie?
My favorite scary movie? Man that’s a tough one… I’m gonna say Dead Alive for vintage horror. It’s not the scariest movie out there but it’s just plain fun. And you can’t beat the gore!! Bright red blood everywhere!! And my favorite newer horror film would be House of 1000 corpses. I love Rob Zombie’s style of filming. That dudes got a sick mind
