Stranger Things Season 2 news (see who they added to the cast)

Stranger Things has been given the green light for a second season by Netflix, which is no surprise due to its success and its due to air in 2017.

Stranger Things tweeted this from their Twitter

Season 2 will have 9 episodes and feature your favourites from season 1 plus a couple of new cast members.

Entertainment Weekly have stated that the Goonies and Lord of the Rings actor Sean Astin will be joining the show and will play a former student named Bob Newby who attended the same school as Joyce and Chief Hopper who now runs the local radio station and is an all round nice guy.

Next up to join the cast is Paul Reiser who played Carter Burke in Aliens.
He will play Dr Owens who works for the government to clear up and cover what happened in Season 1.

It’s a nice touch bringing in these two actors who played great characters in such iconic 80s films, especially the Goonies, which Stranger Things clearly plays homage to.
